Programmes in london

Gingerbread regularly partners with various companies to provide you with opportunities to gain work experience, build confidence, and work towards your future goals. Whether that might be volunteering, getting further education or preparing for work, we are here to help you.

Keep your eye on this page, or sign up with us, as we are always launching new programmes. 

Not all programmes are available in every borough, and some have an age requirement.

Current programmes:

Marks and Start

Marks & Start gives the opportunity of work experience to single parents of different ages and walks of life, helping them get ready to access the world of work.

Dates: running until 2018
Criteria: Must be a single parent
Where: East London, North London, South London, West London, Essex

Talent match

Gingerbread will support you throughout your journey aiming to get you closer to your goals - whether it’s employment, volunteering or going back into education.

Dates: running until 2018
Criteria: Single parents must be age 18 – 24, not in employment, training or education for over a year. 
Where: Croydon borough, London only

Youth employment skills

We offer young single parents a full support service, providing a gateway into education, employment or training. 

Dates: running until 2017
Criteria: Single parents must be age 16 – 24, not currently employed, in education or receiving income
Where: Enfield, Barking & Dagenham, Hackney, Greenwich, Haringey, Havering, Newham, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, Waltham forest

Make Trax

Young single parents, ages 16 – 24, will receive one to one support from a dedicated key worker to assess and develop future goals, and create an action plan.

Dates: running until 2019
Criteria: Single parents must be age 16 – 24, not currently employed or receiving income, living in Croydon. 
Where: Croydon borough, London only

Aim higher and Outreach East

Aim Higher and Outreach East are two separate and exciting projects for single parents to get involved in. Both of these offer a wide range of support that is tailored to you.

Criteria: Single parents must be 19 or over
